Shrawasti (area: 2,520 sq km) is one of the districts covered by PACS in Uttar Pradesh. The district is a part of Devipatan division. Bhinga town is the district headquarters.

Shrawasti is a newly created district carved out from the districts of Gonda and Bahraich. Besides these two districts, Shrawasti shares a border with Balrampur district and Nepal.

Shrawasti has the lowest literacy rate (34.2%) amongst Uttar Pradesh’s districts.

Around 18% of the population belongs to the scheduled castes. Muslims constitute around 26% of the population.
