PACS blog - house rules
We’ve established house rules so that everyone can get the most out of the PACS blog. Comments or blogs that violate any of the house rules will not be published or will be removed.
By using this blog, you’re effectively telling us that you’re over 18 years old. Be warned, you are responsible for the content you send to us and this includes text, images, video and audio clips.
1. Personal identification
Be yourself! You must not impersonate any other person or entity, whether actual or made up, or use an inappropriate name of any kind. Anonymous comments will not be accepted so include your name and a genuine email address.
2. Be informative and stick to the topic
Your content should be within the scope of the topic under discussion.
3. Treat everyone with respect
Even if someone has a different view to your own, don’t let it get personal. Comments should be civil and tasteful, and must not be malicious or designed to offend. Swear words, profanity or other language likely to offend will not be accepted.
You must not send, distribute or upload messages or material that is defamatory or threatening, or that promotes violence or discrimination on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, caste, disability, sexual orientation or age. We will not publish or we will remove any content that is used for party political purposes.
4. Safety
Any information that we believe could jeopardise the safety of our staff or others will not be published.
5. Direct requests
This website is a space for discussion, comment and debate on PACS related themes and issues. Do not use it to make direct requests to our bloggers or the PACS programme. Any such requests will not be published except where you request more information or clarification. Use the contact form to find out how you can contact the PACS programme.
6. Legal liability
You are legally responsible for your content. By submitting content, you undertake to indemnify PACS programme, IFIRST and DFID against any liability arising from a breach of confidentiality or copyright, or any obscene, defamatory, seditious, blasphemous or any other actionable statement you may make or content you submit.
7. Advertising, spamming and research
Information about sharing knowledge, resources and expertise is encouraged, but this must be relevant to the topic. No advertising or promotion is allowed except where it is for a website, publication or event that has direct relevance to the topic of the blog.
We want to ensure that everyone has the space to join the debate and will therefore not publish repeated and excessive submissions.
8. Use of your comments and content
www.pacsindia.org is a public website and by taking part in discussions, you accept that your comments and content are shared in the public domain. The PACS programme may also promote individual blogs, comments and content on the website and in other PACS communications including Twitter and Facebook.
