UK aid to India

International development charity Christian Aid has welcomed the UK government's continued commitment to provide aid to India, as an important intervention aimed at helping people living in abject poverty.

Christian Aid says that this 'reflects the fact that in newly powerful economies, the benefits of growth are often shared unequally, in this case outstripping the Indian government’s efforts to make society more equal'.
