While expressing unhappiness over the tardy pace of implementation of Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) and MNREGA scheme in Bihar, Union minister for rural development Jairam Ramesh said here on Tuesday that the Centre was ready to give more funds to the state if it so demanded in an appropriate manner.

He said that earlier, mukhiyas and other panchayat functionaries were more interested in purchasing SUVs instead of using MNREGA funds for development works.
