The 2009 Right to Education Act makes education the fundamental right of every child aged 6-14 in India. However, not every child is accessing this right, especially those belonging to socially excluded groups.

PACS partners have been collaborating with School Management Committees and with State governments in special “Back to School” programmes and enrollment drives to reduce absenteeism and dropout rates. In total, around 35,000 children from socially excluded groups have been supported to return to mainstream education.
