Kanker is of the districts covered by PACS in Chhattisgarh. The district (area: 5,285 sq km) is situated in the southern region of the state of Chhattisgarh.

Four districts, namely Bastar, Dhamtari, Durg and Rajnandgaon, surround it. Kanker is divided into seven tehsils -- Kanker, Charama, Narharpur, Bhanupratappur, Antagarh, Durgukondal and Pakhanjoor--and seven blocks namely Kanker, Charama, Bhanupratappur, Narharpurn, Antagarh, Durgukondal and Koyali Beda.

Around 56% of the total population belongs to the scheduled tribes.
