Jehanabad is one of the districts covered by PACS in Bihar. The district is a part of Magadh division. It came into existence on August 1, 1986. Jehanabad is 45 km from Patna, the capital of Bihar. Jehanabad town is the administrative headquarters of the district.

The district is located on the confluence of two small rivers: the Dardha and Yamunaiya. It is the heartland of Magadha, and the local dialect is Magahi.

The district comprises only one sub-division, Jehanabad.

Around 18% of the population of the district belongs to the scheduled castes. Muslims constitute around 8% of the population.
