Janjgir-Champa is one of the districts covered by PACS in Chhattisgarh. The district (area: 4,466 sq km) is 65 km from Bilaspur and 175 km from the state capital Raipur, by road. It is divided into five administrative sub-divisions—Jangir, Pamgarh, Champa, Sakti and Dabhara—and 10 tehsils: Janjgir, Akaltara, Baloda, Nawagarh, Champa, Pamgarh, Sakti, Jaijaipur, Malkharoda and Dabhara.

Around 22% and 12% of the population belongs to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes respectively.
