A snapshot of 57 CSO projects

Out of the 91 civil society organistaion (CSO) project proposals submitted to Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India, approvals have been received for 57 CSO projects in the seven states.

These projects work with the socially excluded groups, enabling them to claim their rights and entitlements more effectively in 84 districts out of the 90 PACS targeted districts.

The focus of these 57 projects is on non-discriminatory access for socially excluded groups in two key themes:

  1. Livelihoods (MGNREGA, FRA, Land rights, Skills development)
  2. Right to basic services (education, health and nutrition)

Some key snapshots from the projects rolled out

  • Out of 57 projects, 12 projects are with CSOs headed by women, 8 CSOs each are headed by scheduled caste and schedule tribes and 6 CSOs are headed by Muslims.
  • Out of a total of 90 districts covered in PACS, these 57 projects cover 84 districts
