PACS launches 33 new projects

PACS launches 33 new projects across the states of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh from 01 February 2012. With this launch PACS now supports 90 CSO projects across seven states.

These projects work with the socially excluded groups, enabling them to claim their rights and entitlements more effectively in 90 PACS targeted districts.

These 90 projects focus on non-discriminatory access to:

  • Livelihoods (MGNREGA, FRA, land rights, skills development)
  • Right to basic services (education, health and nutrition)

Key snapshots of the 90 projects

  • Among the 90 CSO projects, 50 are individual CSO led projects and 40 projects are network projects covering 135 CSO partners.
  • Out of the 90 projects, 56 projects are led by socially excluded groups.
  • Among projects run by scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and Muslim, 13 projects are women headed projects. Apart from these, 17 other projects are headed by women from other social categories.
  • Thematically, MGNREGA is covered in 78 districts, followed by health in 66 districts and access to revenue land in 54 districts.
