The Vigyan Foundation project aims to ensure non-discriminatory access to elementary education for urban excluded communities.
The project's purpose is the proper implementation of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act 2008.
The Vigyan Foundation project works in 31 villages and 16 urban areas (48 slums) in Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. PACS is supporting the project for four years.
Vigyan Foundation aims

Advocacy and lobbying to fulfil gaps in the RTE Act and its proper implementation.

Linking activities with government authorities, Urban Resource Centre, SSA etc.

Environment building for curtailing discriminatory practices in schools.

Campaign planning with national and state level institutions, including CSOs working on the issue of education.
About the Vigyan Foundation
The Vigyan Foundation was formed in 1988. The organisation's mission is to mobilise and organise the poor and the excluded, to demand their rights and entitlements and to involve them in the developmental planning process.
The foundation believes in promoting networks and alliances for people to realise their rights and entitlements.
