The Prayatna Foundation project aims to ensure socio-economic entitlements for socially excluded communities, through land rights and educational rights for scheduled castes (SC), Muslims and other excluded communities.

The Prayatna Foundation project works in 31 villages in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh. PACS is supporting the project for four years.

Prayatna Foundation aims

  • Formation and capacity building of community based collectives from excluded communities, to initiate community action

  • Campaign for claiming institutional space for socially excluded communities within the existing structures of governance at the local and state level.

  • Community mobilisation for securing land and educational rights for excluded communities.

  • Capacity building and strengthening of community based organisations (CBOs) on the Right to Information (RTI) Act, land and educational rights, Protection of Women against Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA) and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act.

 

About Prayatna Foundation

Prayatna Foundation was founded in 2005 and works on land rights, education and skills development. The organisation focuses on women's issues and empowering marginalised and vulnerable communities, especially scheduled castes (SCs) and Muslims, to claim their legal rights, including land rights and elementary education.
