Non-discriminatory access to livelihood rights through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
Non-discriminatory access to right to basic services through education and health.

The GVS project aims is to enhance the uptake livelihood opportunities (via MGNREGA), education and health services by socially excluded communities.

The project's purpose is to address social exclusion and discrimination by ensuring rights and entitlements are accessed by socially excluded communities.

The GVS project works in 112 villages of Kushinagar and Sant Kabir Nagar districts in Uttar Pradesh. PACS is supporting the project for four years.

GVS aims

  • Strengthen village, block and district level committees especially on education and health committees and making the membership and participation more inclusive.

  • Capacity building and leadership development of members of socially excluded communities elected to various village and block level committees 

  • Building alliances with other civil society organisations especially media for evidence based advocacy and collective action.

 

About GVS

Grameen Vikas Sansthan (GVS) was formed in 1991 and has been working for the integrated development of scheduled castes, women, children and youths for the last 20 years.

The organisation's objective is to work for the social, economic and educational advancement of socially excluded and marginalised communities, by promoting their social, cultural, educational and economic development and safeguarding their constitutional rights.
