About OVHA

Orissa Voluntary Health Association (OVHA) was established in Berhampur on 6 December 1974, with the aim of serving disenfranchised people who never visited hospitals. The association operated in Berhampur until 1987 when it was moved to the capital city Bhubaneswar to cater its services centrally to all parts of the state.

From 1987 onwards, voluntary organisations were inducted in the network to help facilitate the process of promoting health for the people of Orissa. OVHA has now completed 37 successful and eventful years. From a handful of members in 1974, it is now recognised as the largest health federation in the state.
