About Jana Sahajya
Jana Sahajya was founded in 1989. In the initial phase of intervention the priority area was education - vocational education like tailoring, agriculture and ensuring basic services to the people by successful execution of government schemes and programmes.
Other key focus areas include the protection of people's rights over natural resources and small enterprise promotion through women's groups.
The organisation has contributed substantially to the development of public/common property and resources, and the eradication of bonded labour through the undertaking of 'food for work' programmes. Even today, identification and freeing of bonded labourers is a key intervention of the organisation.
