Jharkhand Vikas Parishad (JVP)
The JVP project aims to mainstream the MGNREG scheme as a means to sustainable livelihoods and empower women, especially those from scheduled tribes (ST).
The project's purpose is to ensure food security for socially excluded communities, to reduce the level of poverty.
The JVP project operates in 60 villages of the Pakur district, Jharkhand. PACS is supporting the project for four years.
JVP aims

Strengthening organisational capacities with respect to various government programmes, policies, acts, processes etc. for raising issues of social exclusion and discriminations.

Facilitate processes for leadership building of the community and community-based organisations (CBOs) through various initiatives.

Facilitate various processes for public scrutiny of the implementation of the MGNREGA in the project area and institutionalise the processes that are community driven.
About JVP
JVP is a woman headed organisation that was registered in June 2000. Since its inception, the organisation has been working for the rural poor with special reference to women and children.
The organisation intervenes for the development of women and children through formation and promotion of women's groups; non-formal education; health and hygiene camps; environment camps; integration and promotion of traditional festivals; village meetings; capacity building training; organising advocacy workshops on women's issues; and promotion of livelihood activities to ensure food security.
