About Prayog
Prayog Samaj Sevi Sanstha (Prayog), Raipur was established in 1975 and registered in 1980. The organisation is well known for its contribution in rural leadership development. It works throughout India to build up grassroots activism but focuses mainly on central India and Chhattisgarh.
Prayog works to empower scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) communities by building indigenous leadership. It works towards uniting the often fragmented voice of these communities in order to secure their livelihood rights. Members of the organisation work with communities to help them assert their rights over natural resources such as land, water and forests, through community mobilisation and awareness building.
