About CADAM
Centre for Alternative Dalit Media (CADAM) has its roots in the Dalit youth organisation Mukti (Liberation) founded in 1982 that aimed at social, economic and political emancipation of Dalits.
In May 1995, the Committee for Alternative Dalit Media was renamed and registered as Centre for Alternative Dalit Media (CADAM) under the Society Registration Act (1860) in New Delhi.
The organisation's objective is the institutionalising of their work among the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, minorities and other excluded sections of the society. Particularly on issues of social, cultural and educational emancipation through long term creative interventions.
