Non-discriminatory access to livelihood rights through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGS).

The BSS project aims to empower rural women from the socially excluded dalit communities and bring a positive change in their daily lives.

They will achieve this through improving livelihoods of the community through accessing their rights and entitlements under MGNREGA.

BSS aims

  • An increase the non discriminatory access to work under MGNREGA, particularly for women.

  • Strengthening and empowering women groups and their federations with knowledge, so that they can raise the issues of exclusion and ensure advocacy with the service providers and Panchayat (local self governance) institutions on these issues

  • Regular interactions with the Panchayat members, administrative authorities, local political leaders and media persons to develop a shared understanding on the socio-economic challenges faced by marginalised communities especially the scheduled castes and women for collective action.
