Betul district profile

Betul is one of the districts covered by PACS in Madhya Pradesh. The district (area: 10,043 sq. km) is located in the southern most part of the Bhopal division, on the Satpura plateau. It is surrounded by Hoshangabad district in the north, Maharashtra’s Amaravati district to the south, Chhindwara district to the east and Hoshangabad, East Nimar to the west. Betul is divided into five tehsils: Betul, Multai, Bhainsdehi, Shahapur and Amla.

Around 39% of the total population belongs to the ST groups.
